What is a thread lift?
A thread lift is a minimally invasive treatment where fine, absorbable threads are placed under the skin to support soft tissue in planned directions. Many clinic threads are made of materials such as PDO (polydioxanone) or similar absorbable sutures that the body gradually breaks down. While they are in place they can provide a mechanical lift or vector of support; as they absorb, the tissue response around them may also contribute to firmness for a period of time.
It is not a surgical facelift: there is no large incision and no general anaesthetic theatre stay. It is also not the same as HIFU or LaserX Lift, which use energy devices rather than threads. How many threads and which vectors you need is a medical decision. At Venus, a licensed doctor assesses your face, explains the plan, and performs every thread lift. Noticing early sagging along the jaw or cheeks?

Comparing threads with HIFU or LaserX Lift?
Energy devices and threads solve overlapping but different problems. HIFU and LaserX Lift heat or treat tissue without placing suture material; threads add physical vectors. At Venus the free consult is where you hear which fits your face — or whether a combination later makes sense.

Threads need gentle care while tissue settles — less rubbing, fewer intense workouts, and no DIY facial massage for the period named. If that does not fit your week, say so; timing can be planned.
Pregnant, breastfeeding, or unsure?
Thread lifts are not for pregnant or breastfeeding patients. Infections, bleeding disorders, unrealistic expectations, or very thin / very heavy laxity can also change the plan. Suitability is checked at the free consultation.

Step 4
Aftercare
The doctor explains how to care for the areas and when to follow up before you go. You leave with clear dos and don’ts for the days ahead.
What to expect and aftercare
Time. Session length depends on how many areas and threads you and the doctor decide on. The consult comes first.
Downtime. It depends on the plan. Mild swelling, tenderness, dimpling, or bruising can happen and usually settle over days to a couple of weeks. Results evolve as swelling drops and threads settle. Nothing on this page promises a surgical-facelift outcome or a fixed duration.
Before. Come with clean skin if you can. Bring a list of medicines and recent facial treatments. Ask every question at the consult.
After. Follow what your doctor says for your plan.
• Keep the areas clean.
• Avoid rubbing, pressing, or heavy facial massage for the period the doctor names.
• Skip heavy exercise, saunas, and intense heat if advised.
• Sleep positions may be guided for the first nights.
