What is Botox?
“Botox” is the everyday name people use for botulinum toxin type A injections — a purified protein placed in carefully chosen facial muscles. It temporarily blocks the nerve signal that tells those muscles to contract. When the muscle rests, expression lines that fold the skin — forehead lines, the “11s” between the brows, and crow’s feet — can look softer.
It does not fill the skin the way a dermal filler does, and it does not affect how your brain works. The effect stays local to the treated muscle–nerve junction and wears off as signalling returns. Clinics use botulinum toxin for these cosmetic goals when a trained doctor judges it suitable; the same class of treatment is also used for some functional concerns such as jaw clenching or underarm sweating when planned that way. At Venus, a licensed doctor chooses the botulinum toxin product and the map for your face and performs every injection. Nothing is injected until you both agree.

Many first-timers worry they will lose their smile. A doctor-led plan maps only the muscles behind the lines you want to ease, in doses suited to your face. You can start with one zone (for example crow’s feet) and add later if you and the doctor agree. Looking natural is a planning choice.
Noticing forehead lines, frown lines, or crow’s feet?
These three zones are the classic cosmetic uses. Clenching your jaw or want a softer jawline shape?
The masseter muscles at the jaw angles work hard when you clench or grind. When a doctor judges it suitable, relaxing them can ease clenching discomfort for some people and may gently soften a square jaw appearance over time. Planned case by case — suitability confirmed at consult.
Sweating more than you want under the arms?
Type A toxin is also used for excessive underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis) when a doctor confirms it is appropriate. Say so at booking so the consult covers it.
Pregnant, breastfeeding, or unsure if you are a fit?
Botox is not for pregnant or breastfeeding patients. Tell the doctor about your health, medicines, and recent facial treatments. Suitability is checked at the free consultation — do not decide from an online list alone.
How it works
Four steps in one visit.
Step 1
Consult
Our doctor talks through your goals, checks the areas you want to soften, and confirms whether treatment suits you. You hear the plan and aftercare before anything is injected.
Step 2
Mark
The chosen areas are cleansed and marked. Numbing cream can be used for comfort if you want it; ask at the consult.
Step 3
Inject
The doctor gives small injections with a fine needle into the targeted muscles. Only a licensed doctor performs every injection at Venus — not a nurse or aesthetician alone.
Step 4
Aftercare
The doctor explains how to care for the areas before you go. You leave with clear dos and don’ts for your plan.
What to expect and aftercare
Time. A focused Eyetox visit often takes about 15 minutes of treatment time. A fuller Facetox or multi-area plan depends on how many zones you and the doctor choose. The consult comes first.
Downtime. Most people have little to no downtime and return to their day. Mild redness or tiny marks can show briefly. Softening usually builds over the following days and is often clearer by about two weeks; timing varies. Results vary from person to person — nothing on this page promises a specific look or duration.
Before. Come with clean skin if you can. Bring a list of medicines and recent facial treatments. Ask every question at the consult.
After. Follow what your doctor says for your plan.
• Keep the areas clean.
• Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated zones for the period the doctor names.
• Skip heavy exercise, saunas, and lying face-down if advised.
• Ask before facials, strong retinol, or other treatments in the days after.
• Contact the clinic if anything feels off.

Is Botox safe?
When given by a trained doctor after a proper consult, botulinum toxin type A is a well-established treatment for expression lines. It still has risks (temporary headache, redness, or, rarely, eyelid droop). Your Venus doctor screens your history and explains risks before any injection. It is not for everyone.
How long does Botox last?
The effect is temporary. Many people notice softer lines for a period of months before movement returns; areas and people differ. Your doctor will explain what is typical for your plan. Nothing here guarantees timing or outcome.
How long until Botox starts working?
Softening often begins over the next few days and is commonly clearer by around two weeks. Timing varies by area, dose, and person.

What’s the difference between Botox and fillers?
